PLT5 488 is a new Cyan laser diode from Osram Opto-Semiconductors. It is a 60 mW, single mode laser diode emitting at 488 nm wavelength.
5.6 mm package 488 nm laser diode  is available  with a monitoring photo-diode and Zener diode for ESD protection. PLT5 488 produces a side-lobe free beam distribution making it suitable for beam circularization and single mode fiber coupling.
PLT5 488 finds uses in  many demanding applications like flow cytometry, medical diagnostics, DNA sequencing, bio-fluorescence, etc.
